I was definitely born in the wrong decade.  All the good looking actors come from the 60s-70s, and now they're not exactly as good looking anymore. -.-  Some of the really good movies ever made come from those decades too.  No wonder everyone wants to remake them.  Too bad the actors of my generation can't be remade into the older guys.

So I'm back from the uber con of geekness, and I had a blast!  Sadly it was a little overwhelming for Andrew and I don't think he'll want to go to another, but he still enjoyed some bits!  And he'll always have memories of murphing vaginas, spandex penises, boy or girl? and Storm Troopers!

I however will ALWAYS have my Adam West memories.  But let me begin at the beginning.  My first goal was to hit up the dealer room to make sure I got the comics I wanted before they sold out.  I found Justice League 12 and Green Arrow Y1 3 pretty quickly, but GA Y1 4 was really hard to find.  Those vendors were lucky they were the only ones who had it because they charged me tax, those bastards.  The comics weren't the first things I got though.  The very first things we got were free t-shirts, posters and postcards, plus this ginormous gigantic gargantuan plastic bag, I dubbed the Uber Bag of Awesomeness.  From that same vendor booth, I bought a mini-Anguirus plushie to go with my mini-Godzilla plushie (which I had bought from the same store a year ago, just at their actual store, not a booth at a con).  I can't wait for them to go on adventures around town, courtesy of Andrew's camera and my crazy imagination.  After getting the comics (yay! goal complete!) I decided to look for a Green Arrow action figure.  There were none.  Anywhere.  Name any other character and there probably was one.  The Specter, Captain Marvel, Big Barda & Mr. Miracle, and Aquaman, tons of Aquaman.  Heck, I even found a Dr. Mid-Nite, which I declined due to no deal.  I found a second one and got the deal I wanted.  Charlie the owl attaches to his arm with magnets.  It's pretty sweet.  They had this huge shirt dealer booth, but again, no Green Arrow.  Tons of Aquaman, but no Green Arrow.  No decent Robin ones either.  So now Andrew and I can't go around wearing Batman & Robin t-shirts.  Andrew asked me why there were Aquaman things, and I said it was probably for the homosexuals, cuz honestly, no one else likes him.  We went through the rows and rows of dealer tables and booths, and ended up in the artist alley.  They had some sweet artists that did REALLY nice comic book things, but...no Green Arrow.  There was also this booth that did fantastic comical art.  It was just so funny and so so so good.  They gave away free stuff, so I scored.  After roaming the artist alley we ended up in the autograph area.  The only person there at the time was Greg Nicotero.   He's this really cool guy who does amazing f/x and makeup work in movies.  In fact he's done so much, I couldn't decide which DVD to bring to get signed, so I had him sign my book.  I did tell him I liked Lord of Illusions, and he simply said "wow that's an old one."  (And by old, he means like 90s XP)  My pic with him is pretty snazzy.  I had this head in my lap, and it weighed a ton.  He also had Marv from Sin City on his table and some other head.  Then as we wandered the area to take a look at who else was where, I saw him.  Adam West, and Andrew nearly walked into him.  Good thing I told him to go around, or Holy Embarrassing!  We then saw a bunch of nerds playing hero clix and board games and stuff, and then wandered into the World Series of Video Games area.  So many computers and screens.  It was nuts.  Well no, what was nuts was folks paying big bux to play World of Warcraft outside of their homes.  Well no, what was REALLY nuts were the nerds watching folks playing WoW and going batshit crazy over duels and instances.  We then wandered some more around the dealer tables, and I got me some Hi-Chew candies, some YanYan cookies and peach Ramune water.  The Ramune was nasty, I'm never listening to people's advice again.  And Andrew got addicted to the Hi-Chews, so I gave him my mango ones, cuz they were pretty gross.  After more wandering, I found this neato volunteer named Adil who led us ahead of the lineups and to Adam West.  Andrew got his money ready (since I had my wallet somewhere hidden), and then there he was, high up on his table.  I had my Batman shirt and he said 'Is that Batgirl?' and I said "No, Batman", and I asked if he signed personal things and they said yes, so I put my autograph book up.  His agent/manager/lackey/whatever then asked me how to spell my name, I said 'A-D-E-L-E', and Adam said 'What?', so his manager told him again and again, and while his manager was yapping away, the greatest moment of my adult life happened.  Adam West winked at me.  At that moment I didn't care that pictures weren't allowed, and I wasn't as disappointed that my Catman drawing didn't show up, the greatest Batman ever (I don't care what anyone says) gave me an old man wink.  Then he whispered something to his agent/manager/lackey/whatever and signed my book.  As he did so I told him about the Catman fiasco, and told him I loved the "TV's Adam West!" "Where?!" joke, and he asked me if I watched Family Guy.  I said I did, but I preferred Fairly Oddparents, and he said "It's because you have a cleaner mind", and I said "No, I just think it's funnier."  And we walked away, money still in hand, with an autograph and a memory for life.  The reason why I bring up money is because we were told he charged money for his autograph, and when he didn't ask to pay, I figured it was because you only paid if you got one of the photos, then all I heard all weekend were people complaining about the 50$ charge for his autograph.  I'm guessing maybe what he whispered to his agent/manager/lackey/whatever, had something to do about not charging me.  So not only did he look at my boobs and give me a wink, I got a free frickin' autograph!  FREE!!!!!  TAKE THAT GEEKS!  After that I went to see David Prowse since I found out he was in A Clockwork Orange, and I had the movie with me for Malcolm McDowell.  David Prowse is best known as being the guy in the Darth Vader costume in the good Star Wars movies.  So when I put up the movie, I said  "It's not Star Wars!"  He signed it, and when I asked for a pic, there was a bit of a dilemma.  Their damn tables are up on this little platform to make them extremely higher up, I was in a wheelchair and apparently he was on crutches for some reason.  It's too bad too cuz in the movie he had lifted a character in a wheelchair and carried him down some stairs.  So here's this strongman who can't even come down for a pic.  And he charged 30$.  I just wish they'd have the prices on the tables or whatever, so you can not be surprised and make better judgments.  Eh well, seeing him gave me the chance to take a peek at "Young" Anakin from Episode 1 at the next table.  He reminds me of my brother.  Gross.  The rest of Friday was mostly more wandering around, I talked to some nice ladies from the Space channel, and we caught the ending of this silly horror movie called the Stendhal Syndrome, it's by this Italian director, Dario Argento, who was going to be at the con, and it was just as silly as Suspiria.  You should have heard the folks laughing. XD  We left early, and just chillaxed and watched some TeeVee.  Something I haven't done in ages.  It was totally worth it though, Intervention was hilarious.

Anyway, when I next feel like it, Saturday!  And possibly merchandise & autograph pics.  And maybe even the con pics!
